CHALLENGER (2) EVENTS are intended and designed for players with competitive playing experience. These events would compare to a “Super Series” Level 6 event in Florida, or a Challenger, Open or Satellite Series in other USTA Sections.

Junior Grand Prix Tennis intends to meet the needs of all playing abilities and strives to meet the individual development of each child by allowing 10 and Under players the experience of play on a Full court with a full compression Yellow Ball. Each player will be ranked using the Junior Grand Prix Tennis ARC1 Ranking System. In all JGPT 10 and Under events, match Tie-breaks will replace the third set.

All Challenger players will play the best of 3 Tie-Break Sets, using a match Tie-Break in lieu of a third set. These events will offer “First Match Loser Consolation” draws for all players who lose in their first match, whether they have a bye or not. Tournament Directors and or Referees will do everything in their ability to ensure players get 2 full matches per event. Doubles will also be offered in various “Challenger” events. Doubles will use “Short Scoring”, (starting at 2-all in each set). If players get to 6-6 in a set, they will play a Set Tie-Break (first player to 7 by 2), and if they split sets, they play a Match Tie-Break (first player to reach 10 by 2).

Please note that based on court availability and weather conditions, formats and scoring can be changed at any time by the Tournament Director or the Referee with no prior written notice to the players, to the extent that alternate scoring methods can be used within the same draw as deemed necessary by the Tournament Staff. In the event of inclement weather, or other serious delay, the preferential cancelation policy to complete play shall be: Doubles Consolation, Doubles Main Draw, Consolation Singles, Main Draw singles. Junior Grand Prix Tennis uses “Short Sets” (starting at 2 games all in both sets) as their first choice in alternate scoring formats.

Note* A player may only play at their level (division/age bracket) or above never down.
